Use this checklist to gather the details a 3PL provider needs to quote
storage, pick and pack and delivery. Confirm required services and handling
with the provider before agreeing a quote.

PRODUCTS AND INVENTORY
[ ] Number of SKUs
[ ] Carton dimensions (L x W x H) and weight per carton
[ ] Pallet dimensions (L x W x H), weight per pallet and stacking limits
[ ] Total quantity on hand at move-in (cartons or pallets)
[ ] Expected monthly inbound volume
[ ] Fragile, temperature-sensitive or hazardous items (describe)

STORAGE REQUIREMENTS
[ ] Storage duration: short term or ongoing
[ ] Expected move-in date
[ ] Storage type needed: racked, floor or bulk
[ ] Regulatory or handling requirements

ORDER VOLUMES AND PACKING
[ ] Expected number of orders per day or per month
[ ] Average number of line items per order
[ ] Packaging requirements: boxes, labels, inserts, branded materials
[ ] Who supplies packaging: you or the provider

DELIVERY
[ ] Primary delivery area: local, regional or international
[ ] Number of delivery points per day or per week
[ ] Access requirements at delivery points: loading bays, lift access,
    stairs, time windows
[ ] Delivery frequency: daily, weekly or on demand
[ ] Tail lift or specific vehicle type needed

SPECIAL HANDLING AND RETURNS
[ ] Returns processing needed: yes / no
[ ] Expected return rate
[ ] Items needing special handling: oversized, fragile, perishable, regulated
[ ] Seasonal peaks and volume changes

QUESTIONS TO CONFIRM WITH THE PROVIDER
[ ] How often do you receive stock level reports and in what format?
[ ] How are orders sent to the warehouse: manual upload, API or platform
    integration?
[ ] What is the daily cutoff for same-day dispatch?
[ ] What is the standard lead time from order to delivery?
[ ] What are the storage, pick and pack and delivery charges?
[ ] Are there minimum monthly fees or minimum order volumes?
[ ] How are failed deliveries, damaged goods and returns handled?
[ ] What is the minimum contract period and notice to end?
