Use this checklist to brief providers and compare quotes for storage, pick and pack and delivery on the same scope.
Fill in the sections that apply to your business, then share the completed checklist when you request quotes. Confirm any integration, reporting, returns or special handling requirements with the provider before agreeing the arrangement.

- Number of SKUs you need stored
- Carton dimensions and weight per carton
- Pallet dimensions, weight per pallet and stacking limits
- Total quantity on hand at move in, in cartons or pallets
- Expected monthly inbound volume
- Whether items are fragile, temperature sensitive or hazardous
Storage
Storage requirements
- Storage duration: short term or ongoing
- Expected move in date
- Storage type needed: racked, floor or bulk
- Any regulatory or handling requirements for your products
Fulfilment
Order volumes and packing
- Expected number of orders per day or per month
- Average number of line items per order
- Packaging requirements: boxes, labels, inserts, branded materials
- Whether you supply packaging or the provider should source it
Delivery
Delivery points and frequency
- Primary delivery area: local, regional or international
- Number of delivery points per day or per week
- Access requirements at delivery points: loading bays, lift access, stairs, time windows
- Delivery frequency: daily, weekly or on demand
- Whether deliveries need a tail lift or specific vehicle type

Returns and exceptions
- Whether you need returns processing and what the expected return rate is
- Any items that need special handling: oversized, fragile, perishable or regulated
- Seasonal peaks and how volumes change during those periods

Questions to confirm with the provider
Once you have quotes, confirm these points before committing.
Order import
How are orders sent to the warehouse? Manual upload, API or integration with your sales platform?
Cutoff times and lead time
What is the daily cutoff for same day dispatch, and what is the standard lead time from order to delivery?
Charges and minimums
What are the storage, pick and pack and delivery charges? Are there minimum monthly fees or minimum order volumes?
Exceptions and returns
How are failed deliveries, damaged goods and customer returns handled? What are the charges?
Contract and notice
What is the minimum contract period and what notice is needed to end the arrangement?
